Waypoint Vets is taking a group of Middle East Combat Veterans to the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial in Marseilles, IL. We’re offering two travel options: Ride with us in our passenger vans, or ride north with our motorcycle group. **Note, the motorcycle group will set out on Thurs, Sep. 5th – one day prior to Waypoint transport. This experience includes a powerful morning visit to the wall, spending time at the on-site museum that honors each name, enjoying lunch at Uptown Grille in La Salle, IL followed by a peaceful mule drawn canal boat ride, a home cooked dinner hosted generously by local American Legion 235 in Marseilles, IL, and ending with a Sunset Service and candlelight vigil back at the Wall at dusk.
TRAVEL GAMEPLAN:
THURS, SEP. 5th (Motorcycle Group Only): Meet up at Dunkin Donuts on I-24 exit 40 and head north, KSU @ 0800. Waypoint Vets will provide an experienced escort, road guards, and trail vehicle with large trailer for those with mechanical issues or those needing a break along the way. Stopping in Mattoon, IL for the night, and linking with Waypoint transport the next day for lunch, then finishing as one large convoy to Marseilles, IL. All lodging is included. *Gas at your own expense
FRI, SEP. 6th (Those riding in Waypoint Transport): Meet at 0700 at the VFW in Hendersonville, TN. Your POV will be SAFE here for the weekend. We’ll head north at 0800 to link up with the riders in Effingham, IL. We’ll arrive as one group at our hotel in Ottawa, IL by 1700 on Sep. 6 and Waypoint Transport will return to TN by 1700 on Sunday, Sep. 8.
