Waypoint Vets, Warrior Project, and VFW Post 9851 are teaming up to take a group of Middle East Combat Veterans to the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial in Marseilles, IL. This is a co-ed, all expenses paid trip exclusive to combat veterans of middle east conflicts. This experience includes powerful visits to the wall both during daylight and at night, spending time at the on-site museum that honors each name on the wall, exploring beautiful local canyons, enjoying lunch at Starved Rock State Park Lodge, and a home cooked dinner hosted generously by local American Legion 235 in Marseilles, IL.

FRIDAY, AUG 25th @ 0700: Meet at the Hendersonville VFW Post 9851. They will provide a delicious complimentary hot breakfast, then we will set out *as a group* for Illinois via Passenger Van or if your motorcycle if riding. It is an 8 hour drive including stops. Your POV’s are safe at the VFW until we return there on Sunday. We’ll arrive at roughly 1800 on Friday and get checked into our hotel in Ottawa, IL.
SATURDAY, AUG 26th: Experiencing the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial. After a hot breakfast at the hotel, we will visit The Wall. We will take our time while there. It will be a POWERFUL experience because as combat veterans of middle east conflicts, the names of your Brothers and Sisters are etched into these walls. The Memorial provides etching paper and pencils to memorialize their names to take home with you. Afterward, we’ll make a trip to Starved Rock State Park, enjoy lunch together at their Lodge, then embark on a historical, mule-drawn canal boat tour for some peaceful time in nature. After afternoon down time / personal time, we will head to local American Legion Post 235 in Marseilles, who have generously offered to host us for a complimentary dinner. We will then revisit The Wall at dusk, and engage in military ceremonies and a candlelight vigil.
SUNDAY, AUG 27th: We’ll enjoy another hot breakfast at the Fairfield Inn, then hit the road by 0800 for the Hendersonville VFW with an estimated arrival time of 1700.
